Hydro is among the top five best companies to work for in the North Region, according to the global consultancy Great Place to Work (GPTW). The company, which has the majority of its operations in Pará, achieved the fifth position in the large companies category. The announcement was made at a live event held on December 8 in Manaus, with representatives from companies in Acre, Amapá, Amazonas, Pará, Rondônia, Roraima, and Tocantins.

“This is the first time Hydro has participated in the survey. In addition to receiving the GPTW certification, we have already debuted among the top five in the ranking of the best companies to work for in the North Region, in the large companies category. This achievement fills us with pride and signals that our actions to create a welcoming and trustworthy environment for our employees are effective and achieve their objectives. The award gives us even more enthusiasm to continue working for results that generate a positive impact on people's lives, both internally and externally. Above all, we will continue to support the growth and development of all these professionals,” says Nelia Lapa, Vice President of People, Communication, Health, and Safety at Hydro Bauxite & Alumina.

The ranking evaluation considered data collected from Hydro's operations in Pará: Hydro Alunorte refinery, Hydro Paragominas responsible for the bauxite mine, the corporate office in Belém, and Albras, a joint venture between Hydro and NAAC - Nippon Amazon Aluminium Co. Ltd, the country's largest primary aluminum producer. Hydro has about 6,500 direct employees in Brazil, 86% of whom are in Pará. Of the company's total workforce, 69% are from Pará. To attract its talents, the company advertises available vacancies on its website and social networks and maintains a space for resume registration.

This year, the company participated for the first time in the GPTW survey and achieved certification, standing out in the pride and belonging category. The respondents stated they are proud to tell others they work at the company and would recommend the company to friends and family as an excellent place to work. Conducted annually, the survey aims to assess five essential attributes for a good work environment: credibility, respect, fairness, pride, and collaboration.
